WBSS 2025 Crest Image

An attractive yellow fruited Chardonnay hand-picked in the early morning from vineyards around Südtirol by the team from Mezzacorona. This is a generous, broad fruited white, with a creamy texture, ripe stone fruits, baked apple and dairy notes and a hint of texture from well integrated oak. Stylish and versatile.

Tolloy Musivum Chardonnay

The production area chosen for Chardonnay Musivum is located in Südtirol - Alto Adige and includes several localities: mainly Fateni (Pfatten in German) in the municipality of Salorno, as well as Puncheli (Punchl) in the municipality of Magrè and San Floriano (St. Florian) in the municipality of Egna. The characteristics of the area, which is inclined to maintain high acid contents, are ideal for the cultivation of Chardonnay, which manages to reach high sugar contents.

Another particular feature is the microclimate, characterized by excellent ventilation, good winds, and sunshine throughout the day, preventing harmful moisture stagnation and ensuring rapid drying of the grapes after rainfall. Production begins with a slightly delayed harvest to enhance the aromatic richness of this variety. The grapes are harvested by hand in the early hours of the day so that the low temperature preserves their freshness. Each bunch is carefully selected in the field and transported to the winery in perforated containers to best guarantee aeration and the integrity of the bunches.

Tasting
NOTES

Yellow stone fruits (apricot and peach) mingle with spice and pastry notes with a lemon zest and verbena undertow. Generous and broad in the mouth with a creamy texture, ripe stone fruits, baked apple and dairy notes plus a gentle texture from well integrated oak. There's a great mineral and fresh touch that adds to the layers - a wine you can keep drinking with or without food. Long finish and still with capacity to age.

Food
PAIRINGS

A beautifully crafted Chardonnay that would pair well with cuisine from across the globe; Thai green curry with jasmine rice, escargot and onion soup, or Kinmedai (golden eye snapper) with buerre fondue and citrus greens.
