Textbook expression of Alvarinho from Quinta de Soalheiro sourced from a selection of vineyards over 30 years old. Bright, seemingly salted with green apple, pear, verbena aromatics, a citrus and orchard fruit palate, engaging phenolic bitterness and a mineral focused finish. Bravo! Try smoked eel with pesto and parmesan cheese.

This Alvarinho was born from the plot that gives its name to Soalheiro, our first vines planted in 1974. Today, we also integrate into this wine a selection of vineyards, all over 30 years old, spread across the territory of Monção and Melgaço, cared for by some of the 180 families that are part of our Winegrowers Club. The harvest of these old vines is done manually and coordinated for the same day, making the First Vineyards not only an icon of Soalheiro but also an engine for preserving old vineyards in our territory.

NOTES

A delightful expression of Alvarinho. Aromatics of green apple, pear, citrus, verbena, grass with mint at the back. Bright and seemingly salted, on the palate the citrus and orchard fruit tones have an engaging phenolic bitterness that lends a positive charge to the long, mineral focused finish. Vibrant acidity, to be expected from the grape, is nicely integrated and balanced. Drinkable, very enjoyable and showing great textural expression. Bravo!
