Gorgeous sun-kissed fruit; citrus and orchard fruits plus vanilla and cinnamon are transported on the fresh pineapple and yellow fruited palate. High toned with a seductive caress of salinity, this is a complex white - amazing!

SIGNUM BLANC is the signature project of four friends: winemakers Thomas and Toni Rothschädl, and wine enthusiasts Christine Büchl and Martin Oertel.

SIGNUM BLANC produces first-class white wines from South Styria, Austria, grown on an extraordinary terroir. Located on the southern slope of the more than 600-meter-high Kreuzberg, the barren, weathered rock is interspersed with black tourmaline – a precious stone that imparts perfect elegance and complexity to the wines.

The combination of precious stones in the soil, old vines, decades of natural cultivation, and selected plots at steep altitudes results in wines of exceptional elegance, smoothness, and longevity.

SIGNUM BLANC cultivates four grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon (Chardonnay), Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc.

Tasting
NOTES

Citrus and orchard fruit dominate the nose with a kiss of vanilla, cinnamon and baking spices. There’s a solar element to the fruit with Sicilian lemons, lemon candy and verbena followed by fresh pineapple, yellow fruit and a seductive caress of salinity. High toned with a strong mineral structure and distinct backbone. Complex, well integrated and with superb acid fruit balance - amazing.

PAIRINGS

A complex yet moreish Chardonnay that pairs just as well with simple fare, such as fish and chips or Wiener Schnitzel, as it does with more complex dishes, such as radicchio, orange and scallop salad.
