A Family-Owned Winery Since 1932
Bodegas Muga is a family-run winery founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño. The first wines were crafted in an underground cellar until 1968, when the family established their own winery in a beautiful 19th-century town-house located in the emblematic train station district of Haro, La Rioja.
Commitment to Quality and Craftsmanship
The winery’s hallmark is its dedication to using the finest materials, blending tradition with modern innovation to ensure exceptional quality while preserving authenticity. Bodegas Muga is the only winery in Spain with its own cooperage, where a Master Cooper and three assistant coopers craft all vats and barrels on-site.
Muga remains true to its time-honored winemaking methods, including:
- Racking the casks by gravity
- Fining the wines with fresh egg whites
By successfully merging pure family traditions with cutting-edge technology, Bodegas Muga has maintained a distinct identity while continuously evolving for the future.
