Brunello di Montalcino ‘Vigna del Suolo’ from Argiano is produced from their oldest vineyard, planted in 1965. This is a classic; perfumed notes of dried cherries, rosehips, violets, oyster mushrooms and black olives. Dried cherry fruit, plums, chocolate, coffee and earthy notes. Flavoursome, silky tannins. Ideal with wild boar casserole.

Vigna del Suolo: A Testament to Time and Terroir

Vigna del Suolo is crafted from our oldest vineyard, planted in 1965, where the soil consists of marl—ancient clay rich in limestone. This unique terroir imparts depth and complexity to the wine, making it a true reflection of its origins.

Aging Process

The wine undergoes a meticulous aging process:

  • 12 months in 12 hl French oak oval barrels
  • 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels
  • Bottled in April and May, aligned with the most favorable phases of the moon

This wine embodies timeless elegance and terroir-driven character, offering a truly unique expression of our vineyard’s heritage.

Tasting
NOTES

Classic Brunello perfume showing dried cherries, rosehips and violets, oyster mushrooms, black olives and a smoky note. Dried cherries follow though on the palate along with plums, bitter chocolate, coffee and earthy notes. Flavoursome silky tannins are nicely integrated. Good, balanced, persistent, smooth finish.

Food
PAIRINGS

Two classic Brunello food pairings would be wild boar scottiglia (casserole), or risotto with pecorino cheese. Alternatively, try chicken liver ragout.
