A Legacy Rooted in Excellence
Nestled in the heart of the Apalta Valley, Clos Apalta is one of Chile’s most emblematic vineyards, renowned for producing world-class wines.
The story of Clos Apalta began in 1994, when Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, great-granddaughter of the creator of Grand Marnier, embarked on a winemaking adventure in Chile. Her goal was clear: to craft an exceptional wine and contribute to the qualitative evolution of Chilean viticulture. Her dedication bore fruit, and in 2005, Clos Apalta was awarded “Best Wine of the World” by Wine Spectator, cementing its status as an iconic wine on the global stage.
A Unique Terroir & Bordeaux Influence
Clos Apalta’s steep slopes and distinct microclimate create the perfect conditions for grape ripening. The Bordeaux-style blend—featuring Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot—was introduced to Chile by the Marnier Lapostolle family and has since gained international acclaim.
A Vision for the Future
Today, Charles-Henri de Bournet Marnier Lapostolle, the seventh generation of the family, continues the Clos Apalta legacy. His leadership drives innovation, sustainability, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, ensuring that Clos Apalta remains a benchmark for fine Chilean wine.
