Kevin’s professional growth began early when he secured a role at a Singaporean restaurant while completing his military service. After relocating to Singapore, he worked as an assistant sommelier, spending four years refining his craft under the guidance of seasoned Master Sommeliers and participating in international wine events. He later advanced his career in Hong Kong, managing wine programs for Black Sheep Restaurants, including Michelin-starred venues like Belon and Buenos Aires Polo Club. In 2021, after nearly a decade abroad, Lu returned to Taiwan and joined Logy, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, as head sommelier, where he developed a strong collaboration with Chef Ryogo Tahara.
Achievements and Mastery
He holds the prestigious ASI Sommelier Diploma and WSET Level 3 certification and has claimed titles in top competitions, including Taiwan’s ASPI Best Italian Wine Sommelier and the Greater China Finals of the Gaggenau Global Sommelier Competition. In 2023, he achieved an impressive 13th place finish at the Best Sommelier in the World competition, the highest ever for a Taiwanese representative. Earning the title of Master Sommelier marked the pinnacle of his career. Despite his accomplishments, Lu emphasizes the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and staying connected to one’s passion, inspiring others to pursue their own paths in the world of wine.
