Exploring the World of Wine and Beyond:

Kristell's journey commenced amidst the lush landscapes of Reunion Island, where her love for exploration and learning was nurtured. Her academic pursuits led her to graduate in the field of Hispanic Philology, providing her with a solid foundation for her future endeavors.

In 2004, Kristell made a momentous decision to venture to Spain, where she initiated her studies in international business in the historic city of Valladolid. Little did she know that this move would serve as the catalyst for a lifelong passion and career in the world of wine.

A Passion Ignited:

Sixteen years ago, Kristell's love affair with wine began, igniting a fervor that would shape her professional trajectory. For a decade, she crisscrossed the globe as an export manager, representing three prestigious wineries in the renowned Rivera del Duero wine region. It was during this period that her dedication to the world of wine truly blossomed.

One significant chapter of her journey led her to Abadía Retuerta, where she played a pivotal role as an export manager. Here, her expertise and enthusiasm for wine continued to flourish.

Transitioning into the World of Sommeliers:

Driven by her unwavering love for wine, Kristell made a decisive change of direction. She transitioned into the world of sommeliers, becoming the head of the sommelier's room in the captivating Jerez area. Her career as a sommelier was further enriched during her tenure at the esteemed Mantúa restaurant in Jerez, where she honed her skills and refined her palate.

Continuing the Journey:

In April 2022, Kristell embarked on a new adventure, joining the sommelier team at Mugaritz, an internationally acclaimed restaurant known for pushing culinary boundaries. Since 2023, she has assumed the role of sommelier at the Errentería restaurant, where her passion for exploring the worlds of gastronomy and sommelier continues to thrive.

Kristell Monot's story is a testament to the power of curiosity and the pursuit of one's true passions. Her journey reminds us that life is an ever-unfolding adventure, where following one's heart can lead to extraordinary experiences and accomplishments.
