At the turn of the twentieth century, Géraldine Point’s great great grandmother, Madame Veuve Point, was making wine in Pouilly-Fuissé, with much success in America. From these same vineyards, comes this bewitching Chardonnay; citrus, apple, mango, yeast and green herbs, vibrant acidity and a fine salty finish. Best with shellfish.

Madame Veuve Point: A Legacy of Excellence

Madame Veuve Point is the unique story of a pioneering woman winemaker whose Pouilly-Fuissé won the Grand Prize at the Saint Louis World's Fair in the USA in 1904. Today, Géraldine Point, her great-great-granddaughter, continues the legacy, showcasing the diversity of Burgundy through a selection of over 30 AOP wines, mainly from the most famous villages.

Pouilly-Fuissé: The Flagship of Madame Veuve Point

Our "bien aimé" Pouilly-Fuissé is the flagship wine of the Madame Veuve Point range. The vineyard, a treasured heritage of the Point family, is nestled beneath the Roche de Solutré, a symbol of Burgundy’s winemaking history.

Grapes are pressed shortly after harvest to preserve their freshness and quality. After a period of lees stirring, the wine is oak-aged for several months in barrels in our historic Beaune cellars, enhancing its depth and complexity.

Tasting
NOTES

Bewitching aromatics; citrus and orchard fruits combine with green melon and mango, a hint of grassiness, yeasty notes and soft green herbs. Nice, fuller body (pear, melon, cream) vibrant acidity and a fine salty minerality. Great balance between acidity and alcohol. A nice example of a richer style of Chardonnay, buttery but balanced.

Food
PAIRINGS

The perfect partner for seafood; asparagus and poached white fish finished with a butter sauce. Grilled prawns with chilli and parsley, or turbot, beurre blanc and caviar.
