One of the flagship terroirs in Sogrape Vinhos’ portfolio is Quinta da Leda. The red grapes are harvested from 16 different types of schistose soils. Eloquent red/black fruit tones usher in notes of herbs, spices and schist. This is soft and elegant enough to pair with duck and redcurrant sauce.

Quinta da Leda: A True Expression of Terroir

Quinta da Leda is the expression of Casa Ferreirinha's flagship estate terroir. It showcases the character and potential of the grape varieties grown in the Douro Superior region, revealing the unique attributes of this distinctive terroir.

A Unique Terroir and Old Vines

This wine embodies the estate's terroir, characterized by 16 different types of schistose soils rich in iron, giving it freshness and elegance. The grape varieties are grown in 40-year-old vineyards, which benefit from varied solar exposure and a low annual average rainfall, further enhancing the wine's complexity.

Tasting
NOTES

Red, blue and black fruit tones usher in secondary notes of aromatic herbs, spice and wet stone. The palate is well balanced with controlled alcohol, red and blue fruit, black olives, chocolate and liquorice. The firm tannins are nicely polished and a fine boned acidity maintains freshness. Long schist-mineral finish.

Food
PAIRINGS

Best with black bean stew in tomato sauce, or grilled blood pudding. The wine is soft and elegant enough to pair with saddle of lamb, or duck with redcurrant sauce.
