Exploring Las Secuoyas Vineyard
Las Secuoyas vineyard is situated at 1,600 metres above sea level in San Pablo GI. The vineyard was planted with Chardonnay in 2002 at a density of 10,000 vines per hectare; all are trellis-trained, vertically positioned and irrigated with meltwater from the Andes. This zone has a cool climate and relatively high humidity. The sandy soils here are well-structured and contain large calcium carbonate stones along with gypsum, both lie around 40 centimetres below the surface. These natural properties, along with sustainable management, allow us to grow the highest quality Chardonnay. Within the grove of various trees that surround the vineyard, two Sequoias stand out, the only such trees in Mendoza. Originally from California, these were brought from Bariloche and planted over 100 years ago, adding to the uniqueness of the vineyard.
