The Rolland & Galarreta Project: Terroir-Driven Excellence
The Rolland & Galarreta Project began in 2010 in Rioja Alavesa, Ribera del Duero and Rueda, and spread to Priorat, Montes de Toledo and Jerez in 2014. It contrives to make wines from Spain’s finest terroirs. Today, this terroir-driven brand crafts wines from the top Spanish wine growing regions. The R&G Project holds a selection of exclusive and special plots within unique terroirs - a total of almost 80 hectares in the best regions of Spain.
Iconic 2016 Vintage: Rioja Alavesa's Unique Terroir
This iconic 2016 vintage comes from 40 year old vines from a unique spot in Rioja Alavesa, most parcels being located in the foothills of Sierra Cantabria. Fermented in open French oak casks with temperature control using dry ice, thus, the grapes are kept at a cool temperature allowing for a long, cold maceration to enhance polyphenol extraction. Whole bunch fermentation, pigeage carried out by hand daily. After the alcoholic fermentation, pressing is carried out with care using vertical pneumatic presses. Matured in medium-toasted Sylvain, Orion and Radoux oak barrels.
