For forty years Josep Maria Albet has been producing wine from some of the best sites in Penedés. This inviting, long-aged sparkling wine is made from 100% Xarel·lo grapes. Powerful, punchy fizz with notes of yellow plum, peaches, hazelnut, butterscotch and brioche. This would work well with oily fish; grilled mackerel.

El Corral Cremat is the legacy of more than 40 years producing organic wines in the Ordal Mountains. A personal project of Josep Maria Albet with the best vineyards of the estate and respecting the essence of his place, his land, his fruit.

Vineyard Legacy and Craftsmanship

It is a long-aged sparkling wine made from 100% Xarel·lo grapes. Following the parameters of the Clàssic Penedès, this wine has been harvested and vinified at the Albet Noya estate, where it has spent more than 10 years of constant evolution in the bottle awaiting the ideal moment to be enjoyed.

The Essence of Corral Cremat Vineyard

The Corral Cremat vineyard is part of a group of plots surrounded by forests in a small valley in the heart of the Ordal Mountains. At almost 400m above sea level, it is a natural amphitheater facing south, receiving very few hours of sunlight, resulting in a very slow grape ripening with high acidity, ideal for making long-aged sparkling wines.

Tasting
NOTES

Great visual, golden colour. Inviting. The aromatics on the nose are powerful and punchy - led by ripe yellow plum and peaches then followed by toasted hazelnut, butterscotch and brioche. The wine also shows acacia flower, sweet pear and candied lemon. The palate is rich, intense and tasty with a persistent mousse. Deep and layered, long finish. The wine has mellow acidity, great roundness and is balanced by a salty kick. The nose and palate are very simpatico.

PAIRINGS

This wine would work very well for the earlier part of the meal - it is simple, understandable and delicious. Pair with sardines on flatbread with a drizzling of olive oil or perhaps a lightly grilled mackerel, as the flavours of the wine are clean and crisp yet not overwhelming.
